The Diplôme National Supérieur Professionnel (DNSP) for circus artists.
The DNSP curriculum for circus artists deals with the following fields of learning: acting and performing, technical and artistic learning, knowledge of the body, culture in the domain of circus arts, general culture and preparation for the circus artist's professional life.
There is preponderance, in terms of hours, for the fields acting and performing, technical and artistic learning as well as for health and security related questions.
The educational program implies at least one training period in a professional environment, in addition to placements in professional situations.
The course leading to a DNSP for circus artists and - via an education in parallel by university courses - to a Licence in Arts, “Art du spectacle”, option “Art du Cirque”, amounts to at least three thousand three hundred hours over six half-a-year university terms, plus a quarterly term of professional insertion.
The curriculum extends over four teaching unities (UE) each of which offers a coherent number of disciplines and competences to the students. .

Inscription in parallel at the Université de Picardie Jules Vernes (UPJV)
The ENACR and the CNAC propose to students of the DNSP course for circus artists, to register for a Licence, mention “Arts”, curriculum “Arts du spectacle”, option “Arts du Cirque”, at the University of Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV).
The inscription at the UPJV is considered as secondary, the principal inscription being the one at the ENACR or at the CNAC.
Students who have not acquired a baccalauréat, or an equivalent diploma which entitles them to inscribe at the university, can benefit from a dispensation, as foreseen by the validation regulation (Validation des Acquis) VA 1985, to register at the UPJV.
The students do not have to pay the inscription fee at the University for the first two years of the Licence curriculum. They are supposed to pay the fee once they enter their third year.
All along the yearly university term, students of the ENACR or the CNAC who registered at the UPJV for a Licence mention « Arts », curriculum « Arts du spectacle », option « Arts du Cirque », can direct themselves towards another curriculum for the academic degree. Information on other curricula at the UPJV is proposed to students who wish to change.
